What you get for free
The free AI humanizer is the same tool paid users get, with smaller limits. There is no trial period that runs out and no credit card form. You open the page, paste your text and click Humanize.
- 200 words per run. Enough for a paragraph, a short email, an essay introduction or a product description.
- 5 runs per day. That covers roughly 1,000 words a day if you split a longer piece into chunks.
- Both modes. Standard for a light, natural rewrite, and Enhanced for a deeper rewrite aimed at strict detectors.
- All four purposes. Essay, Email, Blog/Article and General, so the tone fits what you are writing.
- Check AI score. See the detection score of your original next to the humanized version.
Two related tools are also free. The AI detector gives you 5 checks a day, and the AI text cleaner is free and unlimited. The cleaner runs in your browser and removes invisible characters, smart quotes, em dashes and markdown symbols left over from chat windows.
Why no sign-up
Most "free" AI humanizers ask for an email before you see a single result, then show a paywall after the first try. We think you should be able to judge the output before you hand over anything. So the free tier needs no account at all.
It also keeps your text private. Your text is processed only to provide the service, it is not stored after processing, and it is never sold or used for training. With no account, there is nothing tying the text back to you either.
How to get the most out of the free limits
Two hundred words is not a lot for a full essay, but it goes further than you might think if you use it on the right parts.
- Run your full draft through the free AI detector first and note which paragraphs score highest.
- Humanize only those paragraphs, one per run. Usually it is the introduction, the conclusion and any paragraph full of transitions like "moreover" and "furthermore".
- Edit the lower-scoring parts by hand. Vary sentence length, cut stock phrases, and add a specific example of your own.
- Use Check AI score on each humanized section to confirm it now reads as human.
If you copied the text from ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot, clean it first. Hidden characters and markdown asterisks waste words and can make a detector more suspicious.
Free vs paid: when upgrading makes sense
The free version is genuinely enough for some people. If you write a few emails a week or need to fix the odd paragraph, you may never need to pay. Upgrading makes sense when the limits start costing you time:
- You regularly humanize essays, reports or articles over 200 words and splitting them up is getting tedious.
- You need more than about 1,000 words a day, for example in a busy week of assignments or a content calendar.
- You want to check your work more often. Paid plans include 50 detector checks a day, up to 1,500 words per check.
- You rely on Enhanced mode for strict detectors and want priority processing (Pro).
Basic costs $9.99 a month, or $4.99 a month billed yearly, and gives you 15,000 words a month with up to 1,000 words per run. Pro costs $19.99 a month, or $9.99 a month billed yearly, with 50,000 words a month, 3,000 words per run and priority Enhanced mode. Full details are on the pricing page.
If you upgrade and it is not for you, you can get a refund within 3 days as long as you have used under 1,000 words. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel anytime by emailing support.
Is a free AI humanizer good enough to pass detectors?
On The Humanizer, yes. The free tier does not use a weaker rewrite. The same Standard and Enhanced modes are available, and the output is the same quality. The only difference is how much text you can process at once and per day.
Some other free tools work differently. They often swap words for synonyms, which leaves the sentence rhythm untouched, so detectors still flag the result. Others insert odd characters or misspellings to confuse the checker, which readers and teachers notice straight away. A good humanizer should give you text you are happy to put your name on.
For students: you are responsible for following your school's academic-integrity policy. The tool is best used to turn your own draft, or an AI-assisted draft, into writing in your own voice. Our guides on the essay humanizer and how to bypass Turnitin go into more detail.
